Asian FEAST

Saturday 15th Feb we welcomed a full house to our Asian inspired Feast.  A fusion of flavours from the Far East.  We kicked off with selection of Sushi, the classic California roll, a smoked salmon and wasabi roll and of course a vegetarian option topped with pickled radish, crispy onions, Japanese mayonnaise and served with a spicy dipping sauce, a real explosion on the taste buds!

This was followed by a taste of Vietnam with a bowl of Pho.  A slow cooked infused broth with the addition of noodles, vegetables, coriander and spice.

For the main we visited Japan serving a traditional Katsu chicken skewer and katsu curry sauce garnished with crispy chicken skin alongside sticky Chinese pork ribs and a vegetable gyozo dumpling finished with sprinkling of coriander spring onions, crispy noodles and siracha sauce on the side, the added the little extra’s you can expect from Feast Supper Club!  We didn’t forget our vegetarian guests,  always thinking how we can add flavour and our certain feast style to dishes so they can have the same taste experience.  Tempeh Katsu skewers and sticky marinated Portobello mushrooms were on the menu.

To finish we went with two Asian flavours, Matcha and Yuzu.   Serving a layered dessert with milk chocolate, white chocolate and matcha mousse served with ice cream and chocolate soil, this was a big hit!  For a fruity change we served Yuzu lemon meringue tart another popular choice.  We find that couples tend to go for one choice each on the desserts so that they can taste both!

As always we finish with a tea or a coffee from the country and this time was no exception with the oddly named Pu-er tea. A Chinese tea to help digestion, this was served with a handmade fortune cookie.  These were painstakingly made by the lovely Olivia who is very much part of The Feast Team and provided handwritten quotes and proverbs to each one.

We can safely say this was one of our more technically challenging menus but we enjoyed creating and serving it  to all our lovely guests.  Thank you all for being great supporters and to all our new faces – Welcome!
